Sober living is the most relaxed treatment option because you aren’t actually attending treatment when you’re there. Unlike residential inpatient treatment, you’ll spend your days working or looking for a job as well as working on your sobriety. Some people will also attend school while in a sober living. Participating in some sort of addiction treatment is also required when living in sober living. This can include outpatient treatment or 12-step recovery meetings. When staying at a sober living, there might be random drug testing to make sure that you and the other people staying there are adhering to the guidelines of the home. This will allow the sober living to remain a sober environment for those who want to work on their sobriety. You can stay as long as you would like at a sober living as long as you are adhering to the rules of the home. Even though people live together and are supportive of one another, you are responsible for your own individual recovery and sobriety. If you or someone else starts to hinder the recovery of others, you might be asked to leave.
